ResponderBorrarB) As you could see, opportunities and threats are non-controllable. How do you consider a company can prepare for this external factors?
I consider that a company can prepare for all of this by having backup options in case something bad happens they can have a Plan B or something else, also analyze correctly the signs and the teams must be aware that we need to be flexible in order to react efficiently to the unexpected, which is another reason why the team must be well prepared and educated so they don’t fall under pressure and do something that could affect the company. Also if the company can’t manage the situation it’s better to transfer those risks to a third party who can handle it better. Transferring does not mean that the risk is eliminated; you still own that, only the responsibilities will be transferred to a third party to manage that risk by paying the appropriate amount for the service. Another strategy is to avoid or eliminate threats and its impact on the project by changing the project plan, reduce or change the project scope or change the project schedule in such a way that the anticipated risk may not occur at its first place. For certain threats, you cannot chalk out a strategy that may be because you do not have the required skills to deal with such threats or the solution to those threats demands much more than your budgeted cost. So, in that scenario, it is better to accept the risk either actively or passively. In the case of passive acceptance you need not do anything, just note down the threat. This is a common risk response strategy where you need to plan the things in such a way that the impact or the probability of occurrence of the threats can be reduced to an acceptable limit when it actually occurs. For opportunities you can share them with another party who is also interested in capturing the opportunity for the benefit of the project.

ResponderBorrarTo run a successful business, you should regularly analyze your processes to ensure you are operating as efficiently as possible. While there are numerous ways to assess your company, one of the most effective methods is to conduct a SWOT analysis. A SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis is a planning process that helps your company overcome challenges and determine what new leads to pursue. The primary objective of a SWOT analysis is to help organizations develop a full awareness of all the factors involved in making a business decision. This method was created in the 1960s by Albert Humphrey of the Stanford Research Institute, during a study conducted to identify why corporate planning consistently failed. Since its creation, SWOT has become one of the most useful tools for business owners to start and grow their companies.A SWOT analysis focuses on the four elements of the acronym, allowing companies to identify the forces influencing a strategy, action or initiative. Knowing these positive and negative elements can help companies more effectively communicate what parts of a plan need to be recognized.External forces influence and affect every company, organization and individual. Whether these factors are connected directly or indirectly to an opportunity or threat , it is important to note and document each one. This is actually the area of strategy development where organizations have an opportunity to be most creative and where innovative ideas can emerge, but only if the analysis has been appropriately prepared in the first place.

Nowadays Apple is a famous a recognizable brand because of its technological designs, inventions, and good quality products. This brand has grown up so fast and has become one of the best technology brands around the world since it was created in 1976. And because of its popularity, I decided to investigate this company.
Apple’s strengths are:
Leading Technology Innovator in which they have the potential to produce its hardware, software, and other products bringing the company to the top of the line. Each year they launch new products with new designs and new software modifications. They also have a good brand Reputation with advanced functions and unique design for Apple products and high-quality items. Not forgetting the awesome advertising skills.
Weaknesses of the company:
They have high prices being vulnerable for the company because consumers can easily select products of comparable quality but at a lower cost. They are also not compatible with other systems making it difficult to use them with other devices. And in many cases defects exist in products having flaws and damages in a short period since it was bought.
Apple’s opportunities:
Loyal costumers since they have a high market share and brand recognition increasing demands for its various devices. Growth of Advertisement Market: the
advertising program allows them to develop the digital advertising market is a possibility for Apple further.
Threats of this business company:
Rapid Technological Change consumer electronics is evolving with new technological advancements every other day. Challenging the company to keep up with the latest trends. Competitors in The Online Music Market such as Amazon, Wal-Mart, and Spotify are a threat to Apple. And this company was also affected by the pandemic up to 20% of Apple’s yearly expected to range from $63 billion to $ 67 billion, but the company was able to achieve revenue of $57 billion only.

The company that I have chosen is Zara, one of the biggest clothing companies in the world.
Strengths
Efficient manufacturing & delivery – Zara is one of the most efficient clothing companies in the world when it comes to all operational processes – manufacturing, delivery, supply chain and logistics. Reportedly, the company needs just 1 week to develop a new product and get it to all 2,259 stores it has worldwide, compared to an industry average of 6 months. This gives Zara a huge advantage when it comes to delivering new designs in record time.
Competitive pricing – additionally, the company also offers a very competitive pricing for the variety and amount of products it offers. Its clothing is targeted to a middle class audience, although it’s also true that the pricing is adapted to the characteristics of each market.
Fast reaction to new trends – the company is known for imitating high-fashion trends, and it is extremely fast when it comes to spotting and replicating them for its own products.
Weaknesses
Limited product stock – because Zara delivers fashion pieces in record time, they don’t produce as much stock as other companies would. Which is not great news for customers who often love a piece, and it is already out of stock – or simply not in the size they need.
Controversies – additionally, the company is also involved in multiple controversies revolving child labour and paying under minimum wage. As people are getting more and more conscious about these topics, these controversies is doing a lot of harm to the company’s reputation. High fashion imitation – as I already mentioned, Zara is known to imitate fashion trends. Which means that they are not a trend setter, and they do not offer a lot of unique and creative pieces designed exclusively by them.
Opportunities
Growing demand for high fashion – currently, there is a growing demand for clothing that looks high fashion, but don’t cost thousands of dollars for a single piece. This is a great opportunity for Zara, which does precisely what people want – selling high fashion style for affordable prices.
Fast fashion – as customer behavior is changing, people get bored with everything faster than ever. And this is true for fashion as well – clothes that people would wear for months and years now get substituted with new pieces much more often. Which is another excellent opportunity for Zara as the so-called “fast fashion is on the rise”.
Threats
Growing competition – the increasing demand for fashion and apparel also means that competition is growing as well. With huge online providers taking over the Internet, Zara’s popularity is becoming threatened by other companies.
Increasing costs – another tendency that could impose a significant threat for Zara are the increasing costs for production and raw material. Which, as a consequence, will probably reduce its revenue and profit margins. For now, Zara has managed to develop a well integrated and efficient supply chain that keeps the cost of raw materials low. But this might not last forever, especially if the prices keep rising.
Regulatory threats – the business industry is gradually getting more and more regulated. On a global scale, governments and legal agencies are regulating all kind of sectors and businesses, and the fashion market is not an exception. This includes labour, quality, customer services, and many other aspects of the industry. All of these regulations might eventually have a negative impact on Zara.

Robust Distribution Network: Coca-Cola counts with one of the largest distribution networks allowing them to make their products available in more than 200 countries.
Weaknesses:
One of the main weaknesses of Coca-Cola is water management, since water is one of the main ingredients for most of Coca-Cola’s products it can become a problem because water is becoming a limited resource in many parts of the world.
Opportunities:
Extended reach: The population continues to increase therefore Coca-Cola has been focusing on a variety of its business lines to reach the markets needs and so far, it has shown good results.

STRENGHTS
Strong brand identity Coca-Cola is a highly popular brand with a unique brand identity. Its soft drinks are the most selling drinks in history.
Highest brand equity Coca-Cola is undoubtedly one of the most renowned brands with the highest brand equity. It is ranked 5th best global brand in 2019 behind Microsoft and ahead of Samsung by Interbrand.
Extended global reach It is sold in more than 200 countries with 9 billion servings per day of Company products. It has introduced more than 500 new products globally. Some of these are variations of Coca Cola beverage, like Coco Cola Vanilla and Cherry Coca Cola. Its brands are known to touch every lifestyle and demography.
WEAKNESS
Aggressive competition with Pepsi Pepsi is the biggest rival of Coca Cola. Had it not been Pepsi, Coca-Cola would have been the clear market leader in the beverage.
Product diversification Coca Cola has low product diversification. Where Pepsi has launched many snacks items like Lays and Kurkure, Coca Cola is lagging in this segment. It gives Pepsi leverage over Coca Cola.
Health concerns Carbonated drinks are one of the major sources of sugar intake. It results in two grave health issues obesity and diabetes. Coca Cola is the biggest manufacturer of carbonated beverages. Many health experts have prohibited the use of these soft drinks. It is a controversial issue for the company. However, Coca Cola hasn’t devised any health alternative or solution for this problem yet.
OPPORTUNITIES
Introduce new products and diversify its segments Coca-Cola has the opportunity to introduce new offerings in health and food segments just like Pepsi. It can contribute to their revenue, and they can branch out from carbonated drinks.
Increase presence in developing nations Many regions with hot climate have the highest consumption for cold drinks. Thus, increasing presence in such locations can be excellent Middle Eastern and African countries are a good example.
Bring advanced supply chain system Coca Cola’s business is entirely dependent upon logistics and supply chain. Transportation costs and fuel prices are always on the rise. Thus, coming up with some advanced and improved systems for distribution can be an opportunity.
THREATS
Water usage controversy Coca Cola has faced many criticisms over its water management issue. Many social and environmental groups have claimed that the company has a vast consumption of water in water-scarce regions. Besides, people have alleged that Coca Cola is polluting water and mixing pesticides in water to clear contaminants.
Pollution Lawsuit Coke and three other companies are being sued by a California environmental group for contributing to plastic pollution. In the lawsuit, Coca Cola is singled out for misleading the public about the recyclability of its single-use plastic bottles.
Direct and indirect competition Although direct competition from Pepsi is clear in the market, however, there are many other companies which are indirectly competing with Coca-Cola. Starbucks, Costa Coffee, Tropicana, Lipton juices, and Nescafe, are the indirect competitors of Coca-Cola which can threaten its market position.

The business i chose was Xbox because it successfully maintains its position in the market because they analyze their SWOT with strategy, in other to have a successful analysis specific departments of the company need to have coordination.
Some of xbox strengths is that they have been organized with their information and this has helped them when they want to expand their company, they have been able to develop new products frequently, they have formed a successful distribution system that helps them reach all the customers they like and another strength is that they invest in training for the employees to develop a good workplace.
Weaknesses that xbox has is that they could do more research and development to be more innovative, even though they work with small companies they should start working with companies that are similar to them, and they could also work on their financial planning because they could use the money more wisely.
Some opportunities they have to take are that if they invested in their online platform they should use it more to know better their customers and also stable the cash flow because if they save more money they can invest in new technologies for their products.
Threats xbox is having is that if the competitor creates new technologies that can bring down xbox and another big threat is if they change to selling just online that could affect xbox.
